Possible Scenes and Sets

Scenes and Sets to shoot:

1    Picnic with sandwiches and watermelon etc

2)    Tent with the wellies and toilet rolls stacked up. Duvet etc inside and some of the models playing around.

3)    Tire swing/ rope ladder – I found a fantastic old rope and wood ladder in my garage at home in Devon and brought it back up as an option if we can’t make a tire swing. Its also similar to a shoot I saw in Lula a few weeks ago that I thought we could take ideas from for our shoot.

4)     Bon fire

5)    General running around and dancing with still lifes etc in between sets etc

Styling Ideas

Experimental Styling ideas

Scarf as a cape – on one of the boys with just a pair of chino shorts etc.

(only the boy on the far left is relevant)

Dress tucked into knickers etc – innocent and child like after playing around etc.

Wrapped in blankets – sat around in the grass and dancing around etc.

Scarfs and printed tops tucked into back pockets – contrasting the patterns and prints from the clothing the models will be wearing.

Paper crowns

Dresses and wellington boots

Hair and Makeup

Hair and Makeup

Because of the number of models we’re using and the number of outfits we are dealing with we decided we needed a makeup artist to take care of the hair and makeup for us. We knew what kind of look we wanted and Tara and I thought we might be able to handle it ourselves but we realised the day is going to be hectic enough as it is. It also means we will have a makeup artist to come on the shoot and do last minute touches whilst we’re setting the sets up etc.

Here are some of the ideas of hair and makeup that we’re going for:

We either want long natural hair with little fuss or styled in hairstyles that you’d see on children, plaited hair and pig tails etc. I also really liked the idea of two really high buns tied on top of their heads. I got the idea from a film called Jersey Girl where the little girl called Gertrude has hair liked I’ve described. I tried to find photos but these ones are the closest I could find. They give the right idea and i’ll pitch it to the gang to see what they think.

(P.S I mean to reference only the idea of the hairstyle, not the styling!)

Sourcing

After getting all our research and inspiration ideas together Tara and got working on sourcing the clothing and some props etc for the shoot. We started in grandparents wardrobes, and friends draws etc and after going through everything we had gathered, we set out in search of everything else that we wanted to use in the shoot.

As we're using two male and two female models, and have 8 pages to work with, we'll need a few outfits for each model and options to play around with.

Here's what we found/bought/borrowed/made/customised:

(I still can't figure out how to use a slide show so I'm afraid they'll just have to all go up individually)
